Turn your own trash to treasure!
Bring along any old plates, tiles,  bits of leather, stones, plastic, old frames etc and Melanie will help you turn them into works of art, through painting or drawing on them.

Deanna Durbin in Christmas Holiday

The 2nd of 3 Deanna Durbin Screenings. Deanna Durbin passionately creates her greatest role as Abigail, who became “Jackie” to live in the shadow of a merciless love!’ So reads a contemporary advertisement for Universal’s 1944 adaptation of W. Somerset Maugham’sChristmas Holiday. Amazingly, Deanna’s co-star was a young Gene Kelly. With a strong supporting cast, this is a must-see.

BarnArmy for Grown Ups

This is a one-off jazz/street dance workshop strictly for 18+ years only.
Tony Denton, authentic Hip Hop dancer and choreographer, has over 20 years’ experience performing and teaching. Tony was responsible for introducing Ashley Banjo (leader of “Diversity”) to Hip Hop. More recently he has taught “Chris and Wes”, winners of last year’s Sky 1’s “Got to Dance”. This is your chance to prove to yourself that ‘you’ve still got it!’
No previous experience necessary. 3 hour, fun workshop working towards a routine. (Please wear comfortable clothing and trainers)

Ian Englemann Singers - Music for the Four Seasons

The Ian Engelmann Singers, under their Musical Director John Tudhope, return to the Riverhouse Barn to perform Music for the Four Seasons, a Summer Concert of unaccompanied part-songs in a variety of styles, with integrated readings and poems both serious and light-hearted given by members of the choir.

Divine Fire (Words and Music)

Narrated by Susan Porrett, with piano accompaniment by Viv McLean, Divine Fire explores the relationship of Chopin and the authoress George Sand.  In a series of dramatic episodes, interspersed with mood-enhancing pieces by Chopin-Nocturnes, Scherzos, Polonaises, and Ballades, we are taken on a journey through the lives of these two bright stars from their first encounter in Paris, up to Chopin’s final days.  A fascinating evening for theatre and music lovers alike!

Tuesday Night Acoustic Cafe

It’s on a Tuesday, it’s acoustic and it’s in the cafe... Each month will feature a different up and coming band/musician. 

Harriet Starling and the Good Honeys (30 April) Bringing their own blend of bluegrass, with tenuous tales of their Wild West antics, they'll get you to your feet and make you feel like you’re back in the old country!

Davey & Sam: Roots Music (21 May) Davey and Sam create a wonderfully intimate atmosphere. Delivering folk and blues music, old and new, that stretch from our shores across the Atlantic to the banks of the Mississippi.


Surrey-based Cam Brown (2 July) brings a blend of traditional and (relatively) modern humorous guitar-accompanied music.  From old English and American folk songs to Jake Thackray’s sophisticated chansons Cam’s set is sometimes bawdy, often non-PC, but guaranteed to generate a laugh or two and have you leave with a smile on your face.

The Window Cleaner:  In an unexpected situation a friendship grows between
an abused window cleaner and a burglar! This is a warm, funny play with a
dark edge and a clever twist.
One Sided Triangle: Set in a hotel bar in Thailand; with a sad and profound
ending this play's story stems from a drug trafficking request. But is there
more to it than that?
Acts to Grind was formed recently by three friends who love acting and want
to present entertaining, absorbing and thought provoking plays away from the
mainstream .

Set in 1908, three couples, married on the same day, at the same church, and by the same vicar, join to celebrate 25 years of blissful matrimony.  Disaster strikes with the revelation that the vicar who married them wasn’t licensed to do so.  Social embarrassment is followed by a dawning awareness that their lives have been overturned.

Barry Douglas

Barry Douglas has established a major international career since winning the Gold Medal at the 1986 Tchaikovsky International Piano Competition, Moscow. In 1999, he formed Camerata Ireland, an all-Irish chamber orchestra, with players from both Northern and Southern Ireland to celebrate "the wealth of Irish musical talent" where he remains Artistic Director.
